WWII Vet Jerry Yellin
A few words about my dear friend, Captain Jerry Yellin:
Jerry is traveling the world sharing his story and bringing healing and hope to a new generation of veterans who are battling post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He aims to help heal the wounds of war and dissolve barriers and misunderstandings that bring us to the point of destroying ourselves. He delivers an insightful glimpse into the life of a warrior from the perspective of a humble humanitarian.
Jerry Yellin is willing to go whenever and wherever he is able to make a difference in peoples lives. His story of peace and compassion was shaped by suffering and sacrifice. He hopes that in sharing his story, others can find ways to forgive, unite, and avoid the atrocities of war.
Myself and Jerry’s supporters created this website to support his mission, and share his ongoing activities and thoughts. Jerry gratefully accepts donations for his travel expenses, and production of the upcoming documentary film “The Last Man Standing”.

Today, Jerry cares for the new generation of veterans who are battling post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), by sharing his story of PTSD after witnessing 16 World War II fighter pilots, all close friends of his, die in battle. In the video, World War II veterans visit Iwo Jima for the 70th anniversary in commemoration of the end of World War II.
We have to support and heal our veterans:
“I had to deal with PTSD myself for decades after the war. I am now doing what I can to help today’s generation of returning veterans in the hope that they will be better able to cope with this potentially debilitating condition so that they will be able to lead productive and fulfilling lives. This is my way of keeping the Spirit of ’45 alive — by caring for veterans who are trying to find peace on their return home.”
We have to treat every human as an equal:
“We are all the same in the eyes of Nature. Human Beings! We cannot continue to kill people because of what we believe. We need to join together as humans or we as humans will destroy our home, the Planet we all inhabit.”
Jerry’s drive to succeed in his mission is as strong today as it has ever been. However, the mission today is one of peace and healing. The waste of life that is war has left countless living casualties walking amounst us. Jerry serves as a tower of strength and humanity, offering a lucid perspective into the life of a soldier and a hopeful path to healing the mental wounds of war. He speaks to soldiers, families, and children about how his extraordinary life experiences have shaped his life and driven him to share his story of human compassion and equality.
Any money raised beyond Jerry’s travel expenses and film production cost will be donated to a suitable charity for veterans.
